From 15 March 2019 we are open all year!
Le Balcon des Raspes has 16 wooded chalets with all comforts and a cozy mini campsite. In the early and late season the campsite is ideal for people who love peace, space and nature. Trees and mature plantings provide sufficient shade. From the entire campsite you can enjoy a beautiful view. The name says everything "Le Balcon Des Raspes". Both from the campsite and in the immediate vicinity there are excellent hiking opportunities. In the high season, the campsite focuses specifically on families with children up to the age of about 12 years. Several activities are organized for them several times a week. On Thursday there is a Kano trip from the campsite over the Tarn under the bridge of Millau, followed by the weekly LBDR barbecue.
With the exception of the washing machine and dryer, all facilities are free of charge. In the main building you will find a tastefully decorated bar, restaurant and an outdoor terrace. There is WIFI in the catering section and on the terrace. In the months of July and August the restaurant is open 5 evenings and we serve our "Plat du jour". Of course the restaurant is also open a few evenings a week in the early and late season. In addition, you can order daily, to order, fries, grilled chicken snacks or pizzas in both pre-season and late season.
There is an 'épicerie' at 500 meters for the "forgotten" groceries. Of course the baker brings fresh baguettes, croissants and pains au chocolat every morning. You can choose to have a fully catered breakfast in our restaurant or on our terrace.
In the high season our campsite is completely car-free (with the exception of arrival and departure days) and the car can be parked in the car park.
During your stay our beautiful department offers many opportunities to visit old villages and follow "The Route of the Lords of Rouergue" with medieval castles or villages of the Templars. The Roquefort caves are well worth a visit. You can admire the viaduct of Millau and its small exhibition explaining the construction of the world-famous bridge. Spending a day at one of the beaches on the Tarn is also recommended. For those who are looking for a more active holiday, then you have come to the right place. How about canoeing, abseiling, karting, paragliding or canoeing. You see: there is something for everyone.
Whether you opt for a cottage or camping, in the high or low season, our family will do everything to make your stay a beautiful and pleasant memory.
See you soon, Richard, Marriëlle, Tygo, Jade en Jakko, "Le Balcon Des Raspes".
